FIBER-LINE® Food Drive

07/13/16

The FIBER-LINE® Giving Committee organized a food drive for the Keystone Opportunity Center of Souderton, PA.  Their mission is to help community members in need by offering a comprehensive array of social services that educate, encourage and empower them to become self-sufficient.  The center provides affordable housing, transitional shelters, a food pantry, and a myriad of educational programs for adults and children alike.

The main goal of the food drive was to help replenish the inventories of the food pantry, particularly for children who depend on subsidized meal plans during the school year.  During the summer months when schools are closed, these children are unable to get the meals they typically do during the school year.  "A staggering 15% of children in the FIBER-LINE® area depend on this meal program."

FIBER-LINE® employees teamed up and collected over 350 LBs of food and supplies for donation.  In addition, the FIBER-LINE® Giving Committee will also donate $250 worth of fresh produce to help re-stock the shelves at the food pantry. FIBER-LINE® is extremely proud of the outstanding participation from its' employees to help support such a needy cause.
